Kids need Kiwanis.

Since 1923 the Kiwanis Club of Jasper has served the Walker County community — and specifically its children — through hands-on projects, scholarships, and a weekly gathering of neighbors who show up.

Track & Field Day

Each fall, hundreds of students and volunteers gather at Jasper High School for a morning of Olympic-style competition for special needs children across Jasper City and Walker County Schools. Kiwanis plans it, volunteers the day of, and provides awards, meals, and a gift for every student.

Bring Up Grades (B.U.G.)

For over 25 years, Kiwanis has recognized Walker County students for good grades — a mid-year ice cream party and a year-end pizza party for students who Bring Up Grades (B.U.G.). Currently serving grades 3–5 at Memorial Park, Maddox Intermediate, and Lupton Jr. High.

Pancake Breakfast

A Kiwanis tradition since at least the 1940s. Every February, members sell tickets and sponsorships, cook pancakes and sausage at Bevill State, and host local dance studios for entertainment. Proceeds support Walker County children. From all our fundraisers, we gave $13,000 in Community Grants in 2026.

Kiwanis Radio Day

One of the club's largest fundraisers for almost 70 years. Each fall, Kiwanis spends a day on WJLX informing the community about its work and giving the organizations it supports a chance to share their own good news.

Work began in 2018 on this park named for Stanley Wade, retired Walker County Probate Judge and a nearly 60-year Kiwanis member. It includes the Downtown Jasper gateway sign with changeable murals, a pavilion built by a local Eagle Scout, and a lawn and track — created with Jasper Main Street.
